My essay, “Gender Theory: Femininities and Masculinities,” has been published in the Blackwell collection, A Companion to Literary Theory (Wiley Blackwell, 2018). This book presents a range of established and emerging fields of literary criticism and is written in an accessible manner that would appeal to undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty looking to familiarize themselves with different traditions of research.

Note: I initially developed this resource guide for my Spring 2018 graduate seminar, “Graphic Archives,” which I taught in the English Department at the University of Florida. This course focused on “active theoretical conversations around radical archives and materials that have emerged over the past few years,” so the resources below skew heavily in that direction, prioritizing spaces of queer visual culture informed by my own archival research.

My essay, “Archiving Wimmen: Collectives, Networks, & Comix,” has been published in Australian Feminist Studies 32.91-92 (2017). This special double issue focuses on “Archives and New Modes of Feminist Research.” This article received the Florence Howe Award for feminist scholarship in the field of English by the Women’s Caucus for the Modern Languages (http://www.wcml.org/). The article is permanently available open-access.

On March 22, 2017, I spoke alongside comics scholar Ramzi Fawaz and cartoonists Phil Jimenez and Jennifer Camper about queer studies and LGBTQ representation in comics. On April 3, 2016, at the annual MoCCA Arts Fest, I had the distinct pleasure of moderating a panel of artists who participated in Wimmen’s Comix (1972-1992), including Jennifer Camper, Phoebe Gloeckner, Diane Noomin, and Leslie Sternbergh. Each artist talked about their own work with the series, sharing strips and stories from across the two decades of the series’ existence.
